Andrew Brown is a Post-Doc researcher at the Institute of Bee Health. He investigated the importance of micronutrients and microbiota in honeybee health for his PhD. One main finding was that habitual exposure to high-levels of B-vitamins translates to decreased lifespan in winter bees.
His first Post-Doc focused on metabolic division of labor, using ants as a model organism.
Currently, he is focusing on nutritional differences in winter vs. summer bees, and is branching his focus into bumblebee and wild bee research as well.
