After completing her veterinary degree at the University of Bern in early 2026, Fiona began her PhD at the Institute of Bee Health, where she is part of the wild bee group. Her research explores how malnutrition, pesticides, and climate change affect bumblebees and solitary bees across Europe and North America. Her work is conducted within the BEE-Fit project, a collaborative initiative with colleagues at Penn State University, USA, and funded by the Vontobel Foundation.
