Rachel is a Post Doctoral researcher from Ireland where she completed her PhD - investigating proteomic responses of honeybees (Apis mellifera) in response to aging, seasons, diseases and treatments. One major aspect of this research was identifying significant proteomic differences between winter and summer honeybees.
Her main scientific interests are investigating the adaptions of honeybee colonies under various environmental conditions. She is specifically interested in age-polyethism and the emergence of long-lived workers in colonies.
